How to resolve a conflict during Title and abstract screening?

Double screening may result in different decisions between researchers.

To initiate disagreement reconciliation during the Title and abstract screening, open Task board  and go to the Conflict section.

My Tasks panel with highlighted conflicts for Title and Abstract screening stage.

In the Conflicts tab you will see all the conflicts generated by you and your team, as well as the partial decisions of the team members.

On the left-hand side, there's a panel for filtering the list of conflicts. You can filter your records according to the type of conflict, for example, you can filter all conflicts in which you are involved, or conflicts generated by others (and resolve them as a third reviewer). To resolve the conflict, switch to focus mode by selecting the  button.

The Disagreement Reconciliation module included  three panels:

  • Sidebar navigation (on the left) that includes Bibliographic data, Reference list, Instructions and highlights and Settings

  • Decision panel (on the right)

  • Abstract (central part of the screen)

To resolve conflicts, click the Apply button next to the correct decision.

If you disagree with both reviewers, use the decision panel at the bottom of the page.

You will have access to the abstract, all decisions and comments, making it easier to discuss a particular reference.

Once all disagreements have been resolved, remember to Send your decision as soon as you have finished your work.

Tip: If you have any doubts, you can access the screening instruction in the side bar navigation panel
