Tasks distribution - first extraction

To set up the reference distribution for the Data Extraction stage, navigate to the 'Extraction tasks' tab.

First, decide if you want to enable automated distribution. When you enable automated distribution, all current and future references will be automatically distributed to researchers. If you decide to disable automated distribution, you can select the number of references to be distributed for the extraction.

Next choose one of the following options:

  • Proportional assignment,
  • Individual assignment,
  • Open pool of tasks.

In the case of Individual distribution, a selected number of references can be distributed variously between researchers. Move the slider or type a % of references that would be distributed to a specific Researcher.  Finally, click on 'Setup' button.

Open pool of tasks is a distribution method dedicated only to the Data Extraction/QA stage. All records are placed in the task pool, where each selected Researcher is supposed to choose record by record from the whole batch to extract data until there are no PDFs to extract.
