How to connect extracted data?

Once you have extracted your data, you can connect it if this has been specified in the data extraction form. The data connection panel is located below the data extraction fields.

You will find three type of connections in Laser AI:

  • Autoconnect - Extracted values are automatically connected by Laser AI. As an extractor you don't have any tasks here, but you have the possibility to remove connections between extracted values ('x button'). Remember that by clicking this button you remove the connection but not the data.

Tips: If an object has been created for data extraction, but data has not yet been extracted, you will see in the Connection panel information that values that should be extracted when connected to the current object have not been extracted (<1>).

  • Connection’ many’ and ‘only one’

Your task is to connect manually extracted values  with values from other fields specified in the data extraction form using the connection panel below the extracted field. The extractor can select only one extracted value in case of connection ‘only one’ or more than one in case of connection ‘many’

For example, in the case of outcomes, data could be presented for one or multiple subgroups. The extractor can associate the extracted outcome data with one or both subgroups. In the case of type of analysis, on the other hand, the extractor could select only one of them.
