In Laser AI you can filter records using multiple criteria:
added batches of references
a final decision or a decision made at a particular stage,
Added comments and structured comments
PDF and/or abstracts availability
MeSH terms
Tip: You can apply filters to all references in the project or to a specific set of references. You can also export all references or only the filtered set of references, e.g. only the included ones, if required
Filtering references by MeSH terms
One of the options for filtering records is to use MeSH terms - controlled vocabularies from the Medline database that are uploaded directly to the Laser AI for each reference in the RIS file. The hierarchical tree structure of MeSH allows results to be filtered based on the parent-child relation.
To filter by the MeSH terms, go to the “Fields” category at the bottom of the Filters section. The term can be selected in one of two ways:
By using the search box to find the term you want and select it from the results list. Remember to type the whole word or phrase to make the search easier.
By browsing through the list of all terms available in the project. Using this method, you can select a specific term or a term with a higher hierarchical level to select all terms that belong to it.
In our example, when you filter by entering the term “omega-3”, the system should return results with the term “omega-3” assigned, as well as terms with lower hierarchical levels (e.g. “eicosapentaenoic acid”). However, if you choose terms with a higher hierarchical level than “omega-3” (see “Fatty acids” in the example), you will filter all results belonging to this term, including “omega-3”.
